I generally put the rack on my truck in the spring and take them off in the fall after canoing/kayaking/camping season is done. These bars are sturdy, maybe not as light as other choices but they work well. Only thing I've noticed is these bars make more wind noise they my old Yakima round bars.

Sturdy and lightweight! Doesn't get in the way of my sunroof and gas mileage hasn't seemed to descrease. Whispers only a bit in the wind when I'm going over 70km/h. Great bars!
